Reason for teaching with clickers,
According to transforming learning with new technology, student participation systems with clickers have numerous instructional advantages (288). I enjoyed and agreed with this information about working with clickers in any subject in class. active learning means that students and teachers has the opportunity to know more of each other. Students feel free to answer questions with out the embarrassment of being laughed at by other students. Is also an advantage for the teacher because she can see who needs more assistance to incompletely understand certain problem. So when the teacher offers help to the student he or she feels more comfortable to express their thoughts on the certain problem with the teacher.
Another advantage for the teacher is that with the clickers, she enjoys more time with students because she is getting Real time feedback (290). This means that she gets instance answers on class work, homework or quizzes. Teacher has extra time because working with clickers she will not need to enter grades because it will automatically be entered by the students responses.

Students involvement means kids get very interested in answering questions with out getting embarrass for answering a wrong response. Students have told me its okay if I'm wrong because no one will make fun of me for getting the wrong answer. My ELL students feel a lot better when they answer math problems on clickers because they feel shy of their accent when they speak.
Question entered instruction is also a very good time to use the clickers with groups of students. In my experience, my ELL students are placed in groups with non ELL students who can speak their language, and it is very convenient when they are having discussions. its easier for them to get involved in the lesson and to answer questions in groups. My ELL students feel more comfortable to answer question with the clicker instead of speaking in class.

Clickers have become a bit more extinct as we move forward in the BYOD environment, but the concept is similar. I also like the anonymity within the administration of the clickers in the classroom - and yet, the teacher can still get the individual data for further individual follow-up, as needed. I especially think there is great value in using these types of assessments as formative ways to ensure that students are 'getting it' or an indicator that the content needs to be re-taught. I'm sure your ELL students enjoy the opportunity to use clickers, too! :)
